The BC government announced a new payroll tax for employers with payrolls over $500,000 in the form of up to 1.95% taking effect January 1, 2019.

The payroll tax will be in the form of an employer contribution and is an additional cost on employers intended to offset costs associated with eliminating Medical Services Plan premiums on January 1, 2020.
